Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojomah on Tuesday inaugurated 2 Operational Vehicles for the State Coordinating Office of Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES).
The Commissioner, while commissioning the vehicles, reiterated the commitment of the State Government under the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo led administration to the success of the L-PRES project in the State.
Hon. Ojomah expressed appreciation to former Governor Yahaya Bello for embracing the project, which, according to him, will improve livestock farming in the State.
According to him, Kogi L-PRES covers the entire State, hence the operational vehicles to enhance their movement across the 21 Local Government Areas.
He said to ensure good health and to avoid outbreak of diseases, Kogi L-PRES is key towards introducing modern method of livestock farming.
The Commissioner charged the management and Staff of Kogi L-PRES to work harder to ensure the actualization of the aims and objectives of the Project in the State.
Responding, the Kogi State Project Coordinator of L-PRES, Dr. Olufemi Bolarin, who expressed delight over the procurement of the two vehicles, described it as a relief to the activities of the Office.
“I’m excited because His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State initiated this project and the incumbent Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has created the enabling environment for the project to thrive.”
He added that management and Staff of Kogi L-PRES will not relent effort until there’s increase in commercialisation of Livestock farming as well as those on the value chain.
